Cancellation

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the tour. Between 7 days and 48 hours: 50 % of the price. Less than 48 hours or no-show: no refund. If a mountain road closes and the tour cannot run, you choose a new date or a full refund.

Payment

20 % deposit confirms the booking. Deposit by card or bank transfer when the date is confirmed; the balance in cash or by card at the start of the tour. No hidden fees — fuel, parking, driver and guide are included; entrance tickets, meals and hotels are listed per tour.

Insurance

Since 1 January 2026 every foreign visitor to Georgia must hold health and accident insurance with cover of at least 30,000 GEL — see our guide to the rule. Our vehicles carry passenger liability insurance; your travel policy covers you.

How long is this tour and what time does it start and end?

This is a 7-day, 6-night private tour. It starts around 08:30 on Day 1 from your hotel in Tbilisi, though the time can be adjusted since every departure is private, and it ends on Day 7 in the early evening back at your Tbilisi hotel (or at Kutaisi airport if you prefer to fly out from there).

What is included in the €1290 price?

The price covers a private car with driver and an English-speaking guide for the whole trip, six nights in boutique 4-star hotels with breakfast, all entrance fees, the 4x4 ride up to Gergeti Trinity Church, three winery tastings, a cooking lesson, and airport transfers. Note the €1290 figure is per person based on two travellers sharing.

What is not included?

Is this tour suitable for older travellers or people with limited mobility?

Yes, the tour text confirms it suits older travellers: there is no obligatory hiking, only moderate walking is involved, and early starts are not required unless you agree to them. The Juta valley walk on Day 3 is optional terrain and can be skipped or replaced.

Is it suitable for children?

The tour data lists a minimum age of 1, so children are welcome, though parents should consider the long driving days, mountain altitude at Gergeti and Gudauri, and cave/canyon walks at Prometheus Cave and Martvili when deciding if it suits a young child.

What is the best time of year to do this tour, and does the route change in winter?

The tour runs year-round, with May–June and September–October highlighted as the best months for weather and wine harvest visits. In winter the Juta valley walk is swapped for Gudauri instead, since Juta is less accessible in snow.

Can the tour start from Kutaisi or Batumi instead of Tbilisi?

The standard pickup is from your hotel in Tbilisi, and Day 7 can end with a departure from Kutaisi airport. Since every departure is private and the itinerary can be adjusted, starting or ending in Kutaisi or Batumi, or swapping in Svaneti or Batumi for the western days, can be arranged on request.

How many people will be in the group, and is it really private?

What should I bring, and will I need to hike?

Bring comfortable walking shoes and layers, since you will visit the mountain village of Stepantsminda, walk in Juta or Gudauri, and explore sites like Uplistsikhe, Prometheus Cave, and Martvili Canyon. No serious hiking is obligatory, and the pace can be adjusted to your preference.
