- Kutaisi–Alpana–Mamisoni road closed at km107-km112 (full closure at km110) for two weeks from 27 October 2026.
- Traffic heading toward Oni must use the Satskheri (Sareki)–Uzunta–Shkmeri–Zudali road and the Gupta–Oni road instead.
- Allow extra travel time if heading to Racha via this route and check for updates before departure.
The Roads Department of Georgia has closed a section of the Kutaisi (Choma)–Alpana–Mamisoni Pass road for urgent repair works. From 27 October 2026, all vehicle traffic is banned at km110 for two weeks, with restrictions also in place between km107 and km112.
During the works, traffic will be diverted onto a temporary bypass road around the closed section. Vehicles heading toward Oni are being redirected via the Satskheri (Sareki)–Uzunta–Shkmeri–Zudali road and the local and state Gupta–Oni road, and the same route applies in the opposite direction.
The affected stretch lies on the route connecting Kutaisi with the Mamisoni Pass, a corridor used by travellers heading into the Racha region.
What it means for travellers
Drivers heading toward Oni or Racha should plan for the Satskheri–Uzunta–Shkmeri–Zudali and Gupta–Oni detour until the works are completed in mid-November 2026. Expect longer journey times and check current road conditions before setting out.
