- · Heliski days depend entirely on weather and visibility; the itinerary builds in backup ski days so the week is not wasted if a flight is cancelled
- · Dedicated freeride and glacier travel insurance is required for the heliski component, not standard travel insurance; check your policy before booking
- · Intermediate to advanced ski or snowboard level is expected for off-piste and heli terrain; this is not a beginner package
- · February and March offer the most consistent snowpack in Gudauri; conditions and avalanche risk vary year to year
- · Bring your own helmet if you have one, along with layered clothing, goggles and sun protection for high-altitude glare
- · The Georgian Military Highway can close temporarily after heavy snowfall; check https://gtour.ge/road-status/ before travel dates
What happens if the helicopter cannot fly on both scheduled days?
Both heliski days have a built-in backup: guided off-piste or sidecountry skiing from the lifts, led by the same certified guide, at no extra charge.
Is this suitable for intermediate skiers?
Confident intermediate skiers comfortable off-piste can usually join the freeride days; heliski runs require a stronger off-piste level, which we discuss before booking.
Does the price include ski or snowboard rental?
No, rental is arranged locally and quoted separately at booking; many guests prefer their own boots for fit.
Is insurance really mandatory?
Yes, for the heliski days you need a policy that covers off-piste skiing and helicopter evacuation; standard travel insurance usually does not, so check the wording before you fly.
Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are verified by GTour.
