How do you book a private tour with G Tour, and what are the terms?

Booking a private tour with G Tour takes four steps: you send an enquiry, we reply with a written quotation within one working day, you confirm with a deposit, and we send a booking confirmation with full itinerary and driver or guide details before arrival. As of 28 October 2026, deposits and balances can be paid by bank transfer, card, or cash in Tbilisi, Batumi or Kutaisi, in EUR, USD or GEL at the rate shown on our price and rate page.

The nuance is that every tour on gtour.ge/tours/ is priced per person according to group size, so your deposit and balance scale with the final number of travellers, not a flat package fee. Multi-day 4×4 trips into Tusheti, Svaneti or Khevsureti carry a slightly firmer cancellation line close to departure than city walks or half-day transfers, because vehicles, drivers and guesthouse rooms in remote valleys are booked in advance and cannot usually be resold on short notice. Full current wording sits on our policies page, and we point to it rather than restate numbers that can be revised.

Step by step, from enquiry to confirmation

• Enquiry — through the tour page, the contact form, or email, stating dates, group size and any tour you have in mind from our tours list or a custom route.
• Written quotation — we reply, usually within 24 hours, with the per-person price for your exact group size, drawn from the same figures published on our price and rate page.
• Confirmation and deposit — you confirm in writing and pay a deposit; we hold the car, guide and any pre-booked guesthouses from that point.
• Balance — the remaining amount is due before the start date, by the schedule set out on our policies page.
• Pre-departure pack — driver or guide name and phone number, pickup time and place, and any weather or road notes from our road-status page.

Deposit and payment methods

For example, a party of two on the Georgia Classic in 7 Days tour pays €1,890 each at the published group rate; the deposit is a percentage of that total, confirmed in writing at quotation stage rather than fixed in this article, since the exact share can differ for peak-season multi-day expeditions. Check the current figure on our policies page before you pay.

Cancellation policy

G Tour’s cancellation terms follow a sliding scale, more generous the earlier you cancel and tighter inside the final one to two weeks before a multi-day departure, reflecting non-refundable guesthouse and driver bookings in areas such as Tusheti and Svaneti. Georgian consumer protection law sets baseline rights for services bought in Georgia, and our written terms sit alongside it. Because the exact day thresholds and refund percentages are reviewed from time to time, read the live version on our policies page before confirming, and ask us in writing if a date is unclear.

Travel insurance

We ask every client on a multi-day, trekking or high-altitude 4×4 itinerary, including Tusheti, Khevsureti, Svaneti and the Kazbek base camp routes, to carry travel insurance that covers medical treatment, evacuation and trip interruption, since rescue in remote mountain districts can be slow and costly. This is good practice rather than a Georgian legal requirement for all visitors; check your own government’s travel advice and your policy’s mountain and off-road exclusions before departure, and see the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs consular pages for general safety guidance.

If the road closes

The Georgian Military Highway over the Jvari Pass and other mountain roads to Svaneti, Tusheti and the ski resorts close for short periods in winter and after heavy rain or snow, a fact we check daily on our own road-status page and against the state road agency’s published conditions. If a closure affects your confirmed tour, G Tour’s standard approach is to propose an alternative route, a rescheduled date, or a partial refund for the missed portion, set out in writing before you travel in the policies document. We do not control the road itself, so always build a buffer day into winter or shoulder-season mountain plans and watch the official road agency updates in the days before departure.

Where this comes from

This page draws on G Tour’s own published tour and service prices and payment terms at gtour.ge/data/, gtour.ge/policies/ and gtour.ge/road-status/, checked 28 October 2026, together with general guidance from the Georgian road agency on seasonal mountain closures and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on travel safety and insurance. Prices, deposit shares and cancellation windows are commercial terms that G Tour reviews periodically; always confirm the current wording on the live policies page before you pay a deposit.
