Itinerary

Day 1Tbilisi → Gombori pass → Ikalto → Alaverdi → Telavi (palace, market). Tasting and dinner at a Tsinandali-area winery. Overnight Telavi area.

Day 2Gremi fortress → Nekresi monastery → Kvareli (wine tunnel, Lake Ilia). Cooking lesson and lunch at a family winery. Overnight Sighnaghi.

Day 3Bodbe convent → Sighnaghi wall and museum → a last cellar tasting → optional qvevri workshop → Tbilisi by early evening.

Cancellation

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the tour. Between 7 days and 48 hours: 50 % of the price. Less than 48 hours or no-show: no refund. If a mountain road closes and the tour cannot run, you choose a new date or a full refund.

Payment

20 % deposit confirms the booking. Deposit by card or bank transfer when the date is confirmed; the balance in cash or by card at the start of the tour. No hidden fees — fuel, parking, driver and guide are included; entrance tickets, meals and hotels are listed per tour.

Insurance

Since 1 January 2026 every foreign visitor to Georgia must hold health and accident insurance with cover of at least 30,000 GEL — see our guide to the rule. Our vehicles carry passenger liability insurance; your travel policy covers you.

It is a 3-day, 2-night private tour. Departure from your Tbilisi hotel is at 08:30 or a time of your preference, since every departure is private. The tour ends on Day 3 in the early evening back at your hotel in Tbilisi.

What is included in the price?

Yes, this is a fully private tour with your own car and English-speaking guide. The listed price is based on two travellers; solo travellers or larger groups can be quoted on request.

The pace is described as relaxed, with no day exceeding 5 hours of total driving, which should also suit older travellers, though those with limited mobility should check specifics like hotel stairs or walking at sites when booking.

When is the best time to go, and what should I bring?

Late September to October is recommended for the wine harvest, while May to June offers the green valley season. Bring comfortable walking shoes for monasteries, fortresses and the Sighnaghi town wall, plus layers, as Kakheti's hill towns can be cooler than Tbilisi.

Yes, the tour notes that vegetarian and gluten-free tables are easy to arrange in Kakheti, including during the cooking lesson and winery meals.

Are the wineries visited well-known brands?
