Eight days through Kakheti, Kartli, Racha and Imereti with a winemaker-guide, timing every cellar visit around pressing and ageing rather than shop hours.
- —Five wine regions in one trip: Kakheti's qvevri estates, Kartli's Chinuri, Racha's Khvanchkara and Imereti's Tsolikouri.
- —Guide is a winemaker, not a generalist, so questions on qvevri fermentation, Chinuri acidity and the Khvanchkara semi-sweet method get real answers.
- —Cellar visits are scheduled around the winemaker's own working day, not around tour-bus arrival times.
- —First evening in Tbilisi's natural wine bars gives context before you reach the regions.
- —Major heritage sites are folded into the driving days without extra detours: Gelati, Bagrati, Uplistsikhe, Nikortsminda, Bodbe.
- —Private car and driver throughout, so the pace of each tasting is yours, not a group's.

- · Late October is past peak harvest; rtveli normally finishes by early to mid October, so cellars will be mid-fermentation or early pressing rather than picking, checked at booking
- · The Kvareli to Gori leg runs about four hours on mountainous but paved roads; this is a touring itinerary with real driving days, not a string of short hops
- · Comfortable shoes recommended for Sighnaghi's cobblestones and the uneven floor of the Kvareli wine tunnel
- · Qvevri cellars are cool and often underground; bring a light layer even if the weather above ground is warm
- · Modest dress (shoulders and knees covered) is expected at Bodbe, Alaverdi, Nikortsminda and Gelati
- · Tastings are optional at every stop; travellers who want to limit alcohol should mention it when booking, as cellars can pour smaller samples or offer juice instead
Will we see the grape harvest?
By late October the main harvest (rtveli) is normally finished across all five regions; cellars will be in active fermentation or early pressing instead. Exact timing varies by vintage, checked at booking.
Is this suitable for non-drinkers or light drinkers?
Yes. Tastings are optional everywhere on the route, and winemakers are used to pouring small samples or pairing food with juice instead of wine.
What does it cost for a solo traveller or a group?
The quoted price of €2690 per person is based on two people travelling together. Solo travellers and groups of three or more are quoted separately, contact us with your dates.
How much time is spent driving each day?
This is a genuine touring route across five regions, not a loop from one base. The longest leg, Kvareli to Gori, takes around four hours; other days are shorter and include stops along the way.
Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are verified by GTour.
