- · Comfortable walking shoes are needed for Uplistsikhe, Vardzia and the Svan towers, all uneven stone with some stairs
- · Shoulders and heads should be covered for women at working monasteries including Bodbe, Alaverdi and Gelati
- · Mestia to Batumi is a long driving day, around 7 hours; a seasonal flight Mestia-Tbilisi exists as an alternative but is not included
- · This is a fixed-route private tour, not a group departure, so start dates and small changes to the order of days are flexible
Can we shorten or extend the route?
Yes. Each day can be adjusted, and regions such as Tusheti or an extra night in Batumi can be added, checked at booking.
Is this trip possible outside summer?
Yes, the route runs year-round, but November to April requires extra buffer days around the Military Highway and Svaneti sections in case of closures.
Do we need a 4×4 for the whole trip?
No. A sedan or minivan covers most of the route; a 4×4 is used for the Kutaisi–Mestia leg and any mountain sections affected by snow.
Can we visit Ushguli?
Ushguli can be added as a day trip from Mestia if the road is open at the time of travel, checked at booking.

20 % deposit confirms the booking. Deposit by card or bank transfer when the date is confirmed; the balance in cash or by card at the start of the tour. No hidden fees — fuel, parking, driver and guide are included; entrance tickets, meals and hotels are listed per tour.
