Badris marani is a small wine cellar in Kakheti, Georgia’s principal winemaking region, associated with Badri Winery. It was founded by Badri, a resident of Chumlaki village who is also a professional musician and singer, a background that lends a personal, artisanal character to the venture. The cellar is situated near the local railway line, a detail worth noting for visitors orienting themselves on arrival.
Chumlaki lies within the Gurjaani municipality, part of the Alazani Valley, an area long associated with traditional Georgian winemaking, qvevri cellars and vineyard landscapes. The surrounding district offers easy access to other wine estates and villages typical of Kakheti, with Gurjaani and Telavi serving as the nearest larger towns for further exploration and onward travel.
Badris marani suits travelers interested in small, family-run wine producers and in the cultural fabric of Kakheti beyond its larger commercial wineries. It may particularly appeal to those curious about the link between winemaking and local artistic life, given the founder’s background in music.
