- Use Kutaisi International Airport as your arrival point; the hotel's Imereti location keeps transfer times manageable.
- Visit Gelati and Motsameta monasteries and the Sataplia and Prometheus caves in November for quieter conditions and cooler cave touring.
- Treat the hotel as a stopover base for combining Kutaisi's old town with onward routes into Racha or Samegrelo.
As the weather cools and western Georgia’s forests turn amber, Imereti becomes one of the country’s most rewarding regions to explore at a slower pace — and Hotel Memoire, registered in the national tourism register and verified by GTour, offers a straightforward base from which to do it. The property sits in the Imereti region, within reach of Kutaisi, the historic second city whose old town, riverside promenades along the Rioni, and landmark Bagrati Cathedral reward even a short stay.
November suits this part of Georgia well. The crowds that gather around Gelati and Motsameta monasteries in summer thin out, leaving the UNESCO-listed complexes quieter for visitors who want time to look properly at the frescoes and stonework. The region’s karst landscape, including Sataplia Nature Reserve and Prometheus Cave, is also at its most atmospheric in autumn, when the surrounding hills are damp, green, and sharply cool against the cave interiors.
A base for Kutaisi and beyond
Hotel Memoire works particularly well for travellers arriving by air, since Kutaisi International Airport serves the wider area and puts the hotel within a manageable transfer of both the city and its outlying sights. It also suits those driving in from Tbilisi or from neighbouring regions such as Racha and Samegrelo, for whom Imereti functions as a natural stopover rather than a final destination. Travellers touring western Georgia over several days will find the location convenient for breaking up longer journeys without losing time.
The hotel is best suited to independent travellers and small groups who want a fixed point from which to arrange day trips rather than a resort-style stay in itself. Those prioritising cultural sightseeing — Bagrati Cathedral, the monasteries, the old town — will find Kutaisi close at hand, while those more drawn to the outdoors can use the same base for the caves and reserves a short drive away. Exact location, contact details, and further practical information are available through the property’s listing, and travellers planning a visit should confirm specifics directly with the hotel before arrival, since details were last checked by GTour on 17 October 2026.
For travellers assembling a wider Imereti itinerary, Hotel Memoire’s position makes it easy to pair a night or two in Kutaisi with excursions to Racha’s mountain scenery or Samegrelo’s lowland towns, making the most of western Georgia’s compact geography during the shorter, cooler days of November.
