- · Pack for winter in both cities and the mountains: Tbilisi can be near freezing at night, Gudauri sits above 2,000 metres and is colder, with wind
- · The Georgian Military Highway to Gudauri occasionally closes for a few hours after heavy snow; check https://gtour.ge/road-status/ before travel, and we will adjust timing if needed
- · New Year's Eve and New Year's Day are the busiest nights of the year in Tbilisi for restaurants and hotels, which is why we confirm bookings early
- · No skiing experience is required to enjoy Gudauri, but if you plan to ski or snowboard, bring or hire gear locally (checked at booking)
- · Most shops, museums, and some restaurants are closed on 1 January
- · The Kakheti supra involves a multi-course meal and toasts; let us know in advance about dietary restrictions
Does the price include ski lift passes?
No. Lift passes and equipment rental in Gudauri are paid locally and not included; prices are checked at booking.
Where will we watch the fireworks?
Your guide positions the group near Rike Park or the Bridge of Peace, both standard viewing points for the midnight display over the river.
What happens if snow closes the road to Gudauri?
We monitor the Georgian Military Highway and will adjust the schedule, which may mean an extra night in Tbilisi or a later departure; this is handled on the day, not added as a surprise cost.
