Georgia recorded more than 5.5 million international tourist arrivals in 2025, according to the Georgian National Tourism Administration. The figure marks a new annual high for the country, reflecting continued growth in its travel sector.
The announcement did not include a detailed breakdown by nationality or month, but officials pointed to the milestone as evidence of Georgia’s growing profile as a destination for international travellers. Tourism has been a key driver of the country’s economy in recent years, with visitors drawn to its mountain regions, wine areas, historic cities and coastal resorts.
The record arrivals figure comes amid ongoing development of tourism infrastructure across the country, including new hotels, transport links and attractions in popular regions such as Tbilisi, Batumi, Kazbegi, Svaneti and Kakheti.
What it means for travellers
With visitor numbers at record levels, popular destinations and accommodation may be busier than in previous years, particularly during peak travel seasons. Travellers are advised to book hotels, domestic flights and transport well in advance, especially for high-demand areas such as Tbilisi, Batumi and the Kazbegi and Svaneti regions.
