Is this trip suitable in winter?
No. Svaneti roads and the Ushguli track are generally closed or unreliable from November to April. This itinerary runs May to October; exact dates checked at booking.
How much walking and fitness is required?
Moderate fitness is enough: walking at altitude near Gergeti Trinity Church and in Svaneti, plus several long driving days.

What vehicle is used?
A sedan or minivan for the lowland days, switching to a 4×4 for the Kutaisi–Mestia–Ushguli sections where the road requires it.
