The cheapest way from Tbilisi International Airport into the city is bus 337, which runs around the clock for about GEL 1 and stops at Liberty Square and other central points; a licensed taxi or a prebooked private transfer takes 25-35 minutes and currently starts at €25 for a sedan. There is no train link to the airport itself in 2026.
The right choice depends less on budget than on time, luggage and the hour of arrival. A midnight landing with two suitcases and a 6am tour the next morning calls for a different answer than a backpack and an afternoon flight. All three main options — bus, taxi app, prebooked car — operate every day of the year, including public holidays, so the real variable is comfort and certainty of price, not availability.
Bus 337: the cheapest option
Bus 337 is a normal city service that happens to start and end at the terminal forecourt. It runs 24 hours, with longer gaps overnight, and the fare is the standard Tbilisi flat rate, paid with a rechargeable transport card sold at a machine near arrivals (coins and small notes are rarely accepted on board). The journey to Liberty Square or Rustaveli Avenue takes 35-45 minutes depending on traffic. It suits travellers with one bag, no fixed arrival window, and some tolerance for standing room at peak times. Exact fares, frequency and the current card system should be checked on tbilisiairport.com before travel, since city transport pricing is reviewed periodically.
Taxi apps and fair prices
Ride-hailing apps (Bolt and Yandex Go are the two most used in Tbilisi) work reliably from the arrivals area and generally quote a fixed fare before you accept, which avoids the haggling that can happen with drivers soliciting fares inside the terminal. A typical app fare to the centre runs roughly GEL 20-35 depending on destination, traffic and time of day, though surge pricing can apply late at night or during large events. Agreeing a price with an unmetered driver at the curb is not recommended; if you prefer a human negotiation, confirm the total fare in Lari before the car moves, not after.

Prebooked private transfer
A prebooked transfer removes the guesswork: the price is fixed in writing before you fly, a driver meets you at arrivals with a name board, flight delays are tracked automatically, and the first 60 minutes of waiting are free. For Tbilisi airport to any address in the city, our current rate is €25 per car for a sedan (one to three travellers) or €35 for a minivan (four to seven), including tolls, parking and child seats if requested. These are the same fixed prices used across our current price table, which also covers Kutaisi and Batumi airport transfers and longer routes such as Tbilisi to Kazbegi or Batumi.
| Option | Typical cost | Approx. time to centre | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bus 337 | about GEL 1 | 35-45 min | 24-hour service, transport card needed, no large-luggage space guaranteed |
| Taxi app (Bolt, Yandex Go) | roughly GEL 20-35 | 20-30 min | Fixed quote shown before booking, surge pricing possible at night |
| Prebooked transfer, sedan | €25 per car | 20-30 min | Fixed price, name-board meet, 60 min free wait — see gtour.ge/data |
| Prebooked transfer, minivan | €35 per car | 20-30 min | Up to 7 travellers, same inclusions |
Train, night arrivals and SIM cards
There is no rail connection to Tbilisi airport itself. Long-distance and regional trains run from Tbilisi Central Station in the city, a separate location reached by taxi or metro from the centre; timetables and fares for routes such as Tbilisi-Batumi or Tbilisi-Zugdidi are published by Georgian Railway. For night arrivals, bus 337 continues to run but at reduced frequency, and the terminal itself stays lit and staffed with taxi counters and ATMs, so neither taxis nor transfers are affected by the hour. A prebooked transfer carries no night surcharge in our pricing, which is useful for flights landing after midnight. For connectivity, SIM cards from Georgia’s main mobile operators are sold at kiosks inside the arrivals hall, and a passport is required for registration; prices and current promotions are best confirmed on arrival or on tbilisiairport.com.

Where this comes from
Transport options and operating hours are based on information published by Tbilisi International Airport on tbilisiairport.com, cross-checked against general visitor transport guidance from georgia.travel and rail route information from Georgian Railway. Transfer prices are our own fixed rates, listed in full at gtour.ge/data. All figures were checked on 27 October 2026; bus fares and city transport card rules can change, so confirm the current fare and card system directly with the airport or Tbilisi Transport Company before travel.
