Cancellation

Free cancellation up to 7 days before the tour. Between 7 days and 48 hours: 50 % of the price. Less than 48 hours or no-show: no refund. If a mountain road closes and the tour cannot run, you choose a new date or a full refund.

Payment

20 % deposit confirms the booking. Deposit by card or bank transfer when the date is confirmed; the balance in cash or by card at the start of the tour. No hidden fees — fuel, parking, driver and guide are included; entrance tickets, meals and hotels are listed per tour.

Insurance

How long is the tour and when does it start?

This is a 2-day, 1-night private tour covering about 14 hours of touring time across the two days. Pickup is at your Tbilisi hotel at 08:30, or any time you prefer since every departure is private, and you return to your Tbilisi hotel on the evening of day 2.

What is included and what isn't?

Included are the private car with driver, an English-speaking guide, one night in a boutique guesthouse with breakfast and dinner, two winery tastings, and all entrance fees. Lunches on both days are not included, so budget separately for those.

Can this tour start from Kutaisi or Batumi instead of Tbilisi?

Is this trip suitable for children or older travellers?

The tour involves a fair amount of driving on mountain roads, a winery visit, church and synagogue sightseeing, and a walk in the Shovi valley, which should be manageable for most fit older travellers and children. There's no mention of strenuous hiking, but if anyone has limited mobility or specific needs, it's best to mention this when booking so the pace can be adjusted.

What is the best season to go, and what about winter?

The tour text recommends May to October as the best season for this route. In winter, mountain roads in Racha can be difficult or closed, but the operator notes that winter departures can be arranged on request.

What should I bring?

Given the mountain lake and valley walk at Shovi, comfortable walking shoes and layered clothing are a good idea, along with sun protection in summer. Since this is a wine-tasting trip to a cooler, higher-altitude region, bring something warmer for the evenings even outside winter.
