Two days from Stepantsminda to the Gergeti glacier viewpoint and, for fit walkers, the Betlemi hut area at 3,650 m, with a certified mountain guide.
Do we reach the summit of Mount Kazbek?
No. This tour treks to the Gergeti glacier viewpoint and the Betlemi hut area at 3,650 m. Summiting Kazbek is a separate technical climb requiring mountaineering equipment and is not part of this itinerary.
How fit do I need to be?
You should be comfortable walking 5 to 7 hours at altitude with sustained ascent. The extension to the Betlemi hut area is optional and best suited to experienced hikers.
Is transport from Tbilisi included?
No, the tour starts in Stepantsminda. A private transfer from Tbilisi can be added and is quoted separately, checked at booking.
What happens if the weather closes in?
Your guide will adjust the route or turn back before the glacier if conditions are unsafe. Your night in Stepantsminda and the overall itinerary are unaffected.
Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are verified by GTour.
