Kakheti is Georgia’s principal wine-growing region, stretching east from Tbilisi across the Alazani Valley to the Caucasus foothills. Visitors typically base themselves in Telavi or the hilltop town of Sighnaghi and spend their days moving between wineries, churches and estate grounds, which makes a reliable meal between stops a practical concern rather than an afterthought. This list focuses on places that sit along those routes — from grand estate dining rooms to roadside family kitchens — for anyone building a day around the region’s vineyards. See the Kakheti area guide for broader orientation on where these towns and estates sit.
The entries below were selected by the GTour desk from Georgia’s national register of licensed tourism and hospitality venues. Selection criteria were location relevant to travellers moving through Kakheti, an established, verifiable presence at a named address, and what each place offers someone passing through on a wine-region itinerary. No payment was accepted for inclusion, and no ratings or rankings are claimed; the order below is not a ranking.
1. Chateau Fort de Manavi
Chateau Fort de Manavi sits at 2nd Street I Lane №1 and is built around the idea of a full Georgian feast experience. It suits travellers who want a sit-down supra-style occasion rather than a quick lunch between winery stops, and works well for groups.
2. Natella
Natella is a newer Georgian restaurant set on an open terrace at the Tsinandali Estate, within the Radisson property in the Telavi region. It suits visitors already touring the Tsinandali grounds who want an outdoor meal without leaving the estate.
3. Pino Restaurant
Pino is the in-house restaurant of the Park Hotel in Tsinandali, serving a blend of modern Georgian and European cuisine. It is a practical choice for hotel guests and for anyone exploring the Tsinandali estate who prefers a contemporary menu alongside traditional regional dishes.
4. Prince Alexander restaurant
Also located at Tsinandali Estate in the Telavi region, Prince Alexander restaurant leans into the simple, hearty character of Kakhetian cooking. It suits travellers who want classic regional dishes served within the estate grounds rather than a modern reinterpretation.
5. SVIA Craft Beer
At 8 Noneshvili Street, SVIA Craft Beer is Lost Ridge Brewing’s own brewery, bar and beer garden, serving farmhouse-style beers brewed on site. It offers an alternative for travellers taking a break from wine tastings, with an outdoor garden setting suited to a relaxed stop.
6. Badia
Badia, at Teimuraz Bagrationi 13, brings traditional Georgian dishes together with modern touches. It suits visitors who want recognisable Kakhetian staples presented with a contemporary edge rather than a strictly rustic setting.
7. Kochbaani House
Kochbaani House is located in the village of Kochbaani, around 50 kilometres from Tbilisi on the road leading to the Gombori Pass. It is a natural stop for travellers driving into Kakheti via Gombori rather than the main highway, offering a countryside pause before reaching Telavi.
8. Lagazi
Lagazi sits in the village of Zemo Alvani, run since 2014 by Natia and Shota, who moved from city life back to their ancestral family home. It suits travellers interested in a smaller, family-run setting in the Alvani area rather than an estate or hotel restaurant.
9. MIDAMO | Wine Village
MIDAMO | Wine Village, at 203 Abibo Nekreseli Street, is built around a gastronomy concept tied directly to Kakheti’s wine culture. It suits travellers who want their meal framed explicitly around the region’s winemaking identity.
10. Banquet Hall
Banquet Hall is located in the village of Kachreti, Gurjaani Municipality, inside the Ambassadori Kachreti Golf Resort. It suits larger groups, golf resort guests, or travellers looking for an event-style dining space rather than an intimate meal.
How to use this list
Treat these entries as a starting set rather than a fixed itinerary: Tsinandali Estate alone holds three options on this list, so travellers based there can choose between Natella, Pino Restaurant and Prince Alexander without moving far, while those routing through Gombori, Alvani or Kachreti can plan a meal stop around the corresponding entry. Confirm opening hours and current details directly with each venue before visiting, since the register records licensed, established places rather than live availability.
