Georgia’s mountains, churches and villages are not a backdrop; they are people’s homes. Our tours are private and small by design, and these are the rules we hold ourselves to.
No animal performances, no photographs with captive wild animals, no rides on overworked animals. Horse treks in Tusheti and Kazbegi use local owners’ horses under our welfare checklist (weight limits, rest days, water, no lame animals). We do not visit or promote dolphinariums or bear enclosures.
Private cars have a carbon cost. We keep it down with well-maintained vehicles, the shortest sensible routes, full cars rather than convoys, and train options where they are good (Tbilisi–Batumi, Tbilisi–Zugdidi). We publish the kilometres of each multi-day tour on request and will support a verified offset if a guest asks; we do not greenwash.
Our destination guides cite official and institutional sources, name authors and correct errors publicly (editorial standards). We do not inflate visitor numbers or invent festivals; dates come from organisers and are marked “to be confirmed” until they are.
Each January we publish a short note on this page: nights in locally owned accommodation, number of local suppliers paid, incidents, and what we changed.
