- No direct action needed, but strong visitor numbers may mean more demand for hotels and flights from EU/UK markets
- Travellers from EU and UK countries should book accommodation and domestic flights/transport in advance during peak season
- Expect continued promotion and possibly new routes or services aimed at EU/UK visitors
Georgia’s National Tourism Administration (GNTA) has reported that visits and revenue from European Union and United Kingdom travellers reached an all-time high over the first nine months of the year. The agency said the growth reflects strengthening demand from Western European markets for trips to Georgia.
GNTA did not release detailed visitor numbers or revenue figures in the announcement, but described the period as a record for both arrivals and spending by EU and UK visitors compared with previous years. The agency credited sustained interest in Georgia’s culture, food, wine and landscapes as a factor behind the increase.
The announcement comes as Georgia continues to position itself as a year-round destination, drawing visitors to regions such as Tbilisi, Kakheti, Svaneti and the Black Sea coast around Batumi.
What it means for travellers
Travellers from EU countries and the UK should expect busier conditions at popular sites and higher demand for accommodation, especially during peak seasons. Booking flights, hotels and tours in advance is recommended, particularly for well-known routes such as Kakheti wine country, Svaneti and Batumi. No new entry or visa requirements were announced alongside this report.
