- No new rules or alerts — this is a statistics update, not an entry change.
- Expect busier high season crowds at major sites such as Tbilisi Old Town, Kazbegi and Batumi.
- Book hotels and transport in advance given rising EU/UK visitor numbers.
The Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA) has announced that the country has welcomed a record number of visitors from the European Union and the United Kingdom this year, according to a statement published this week.
The agency did not release a detailed breakdown of arrival numbers but said the increase reflects growing interest in Georgia as a destination for culture, wine and nature tourism. Officials noted that the rise continues a multi-year trend of expanding European and British interest in the country, following marketing campaigns and new direct flight connections from several EU cities and the UK.
Popular destinations including Tbilisi, Kakheti’s wine region, the Georgian Military Highway toward Kazbegi, and the Black Sea coast around Batumi are expected to see continued high demand through the remainder of the summer season.
What it means for travellers
Travellers from the EU and UK should expect busier conditions at major sites and should book accommodation, car rental and popular restaurants well in advance. No changes to visa or entry requirements were announced alongside this report.
