- Direct flights and improved connectivity may follow rising Korean demand, watch for new routes
- Growing visitor numbers suggest higher need to book Tbilisi and Batumi hotels in advance
- Consider off-peak travel if seeking quieter sites as regional promotion widens
The Georgian National Tourism Administration presented the country’s tourism offer at the Seoul International Travel Fair (SITF) Korea 2026, one of South Korea’s largest travel trade events. The participation forms part of Georgia’s wider push to expand its presence in the Asian market.
According to the agency, arrivals from South Korea have increased by 67.2 percent compared with the same period last year, making it one of the fastest-growing source markets for Georgian tourism. Officials presented Georgia’s culture, wine regions, mountain landscapes and hospitality sector to Korean tour operators and media during the fair.
The National Tourism Administration said the growth reflects increased marketing efforts and growing interest among Korean travelers in long-haul destinations offering nature, history and gastronomy experiences.
What it means for travellers
Rising demand from Korea may lead to new flight connections or expanded group tours to Georgia in coming months. Travelers should expect busier periods at major sites such as Tbilisi, Kazbegi and Svaneti during peak season, and are advised to book accommodation and transport in advance.
