- Expect a casual, walk-in café experience rather than a sit-down restaurant — ideal for a short break between sights.
- The location on Gorgosali street puts it within walking distance of the Batumi boulevard, Old Town and central squares.
- Try the signature cheddar-and-chicken pancake if you want something savoury alongside the usual sweet options and coffee menu.
As October settles over the Black Sea coast and the summer crowds thin out, Batumi becomes a city for unhurried walking — along the boulevard, through Europe Square, and into the cobbled lanes of the Old Town. ONE Lari, a confectionery-coffee shop open since 2023 on Gorgosali street, fits naturally into that rhythm. It is not a destination restaurant but a practical, welcoming stop for something sweet or savoury made fresh, paired with a proper coffee.
The menu is built around pancakes, breakfasts, desserts and homemade ice cream made from natural ingredients, alongside a full coffee list — cappuccino, latte, flat white, frappe, raf, espresso, Americano — and freshly squeezed juices. Pancakes can be ordered with ice cream, chocolate, honey or the house strawberry cream, but the shop’s distinctive offer is a savoury version with cheddar cheese and chicken slice, a combination not commonly found at other pastry counters in the area.
Who it suits and how to get there
This is a spot for travellers who want a quick, casual break rather than a sit-down meal: couples resting mid-walk, families with children drawn in by the ice cream and pancakes, or solo visitors wanting a coffee before continuing along the coast. It also works for locals who pass through Gorgosali street regularly and want a dependable daily option for pastries and coffee.
Batumi’s centre is compact, and Gorgosali street sits within easy reach of the seaside boulevard, the pedestrian core of Old Batumi, and the city’s main squares. Most visitors staying in central accommodation can walk there in minutes; those based further out can use local transport, since the area is well connected to the rest of the city.
In October, when the sea air is cooler and the boulevard less crowded, it makes sense to combine a stop here with a longer walk — down to the Batumi lighthouse and back through the Old Town’s narrow streets, or before heading out to the Botanical Garden or the Gonio fortress for a half-day trip along the coast. ONE Lari works best as a small, reliable pause in a day built around the city’s bigger sights, not as the reason for the visit itself.
