Good to know

- · The Jvari Pass section between Zugdidi and [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) is partly gravel; it is normally open in late October but can close after early snow, checked at booking

- · Bring layers for Svaneti, afternoon weather changes quickly even when [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/) and [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/) are mild

- · Day 2 and Day 4 both involve several hours of driving, pace yourself and expect late arrivals

- · Sturdy shoes are useful in [Ushguli](https://gtour.ge/georgia/ushguli/) and around the Svan towers, the ground is uneven

- · Hotel standards in [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) are simpler than in [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/) or [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/), rooms are checked individually at booking

- · A spare half day's buffer is worth asking about if you want time for Okatse Canyon as well

Questions

**Is the road to Ushguli open in late October?**
Usually yes with a 4×4, but the route is weather-dependent and we confirm it the morning of the drive, checked at booking.

**Can we fly out of Batumi instead of back through Kutaisi?**
Yes, we can end the tour at [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/) airport, let us know your flight when booking so we arrange the right final transfer.

**Do we need separate entrance tickets for Prometheus Cave and Martvili Canyon?**
These are arranged as part of the day, exact prices are confirmed at booking since they are set by the site operators.

**Is two nights enough to see both Mestia and Ushguli properly?**
It is the standard way to do it, one night to settle into [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/), one full day for [Ushguli](https://gtour.ge/georgia/ushguli/) and back, though a third night can be added on request.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
