Three days in Tusheti by 4x4: the Abano Pass at 2,850 m, the tower village of Dartlo, and the far outpost of Diklo.
| Day 1 | Leave Tbilisi early and drive north through Alvani, then climb the unpaved Abano Pass road to 2,850 m before descending into Tusheti and reaching Omalo by afternoon. Settle into a guesthouse in Omalo's upper village and walk among its stone defensive towers before dinner. |
| Day 2 | Drive from Omalo to Dartlo, a cluster of medieval stone towers and houses on a hillside above the Tushetiskhevi river, with time to walk through the village on foot. Continue to Diklo, the last village before the ridge marking the border area, then return to Omalo or Dartlo for the second night, guesthouse meals included. |
| Day 3 | Visit Shenako on the way out, a village known for its wooden church, then retrace the route back over the Abano Pass to Tbilisi, arriving in the evening depending on road conditions. |
