Five nights in [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) skiing Tetnuldi and Hatsvali, the quiet Caucasus alternative to Gudauri, well away from the lift queues.

The route

[Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/)[Tetnuldi Ski Resort](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tetnuldi-ski-resort/)[Hatsvali Ski Resort](https://gtour.ge/georgia/hatsvali-ski-resort/)

Why this tour

- —Tetnuldi is Georgia's highest ski resort, with groomed runs starting above 3000m and marked off-piste sections between the pistes.

- —Hatsvali sits a short cable car ride from [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/), with sheltered forest runs suited to mixed-ability groups.

- —[Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) itself is worth the days spent off the slopes, with medieval Svan stone towers and views of Ushba.

- —Five nights spreads skiing across both resorts without a long transfer day cutting into time on snow.

- —Far fewer skiers than Gudauri, which means shorter lift lines and quieter pistes most of the season.

- —Private 4×4 transfer from Tbilisi or Kutaisi is included, so you are not arranging onward travel after a long flight.

Itinerary

Day 1Pickup in Tbilisi (about 8 hours) or Kutaisi (about 4.5 hours) by private 4×4, driving through Zugdidi and up the Enguri gorge to [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/); check in at your guesthouse for the night.

Day 2Ski day at Hatsvali, reached from [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) by cable car in around 15 minutes, with gentle forest runs and views of Ushba, a good way to settle in after the drive.

Day 3Full ski day at Tetnuldi, about 20 minutes from [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/), with long groomed pistes above 3000m and off-piste terrain for confident skiers.

Day 4Second ski day at Tetnuldi or back to Hatsvali depending on snow conditions and your preference, or a free day to walk around [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/)'s towers and the Svaneti Museum.

Day 5Final ski day at the resort of your choice, with the afternoon free in [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) for a last look at Ushba and the old town.

Day 6Private 4×4 transfer back to Tbilisi or Kutaisi.

Good to know

- · Bring warm layers and waterproof outer gear; [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) sits at altitude and wind chill on Tetnuldi's upper slopes is significant

- · The Zugdidi–[Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) road can close briefly after heavy snowfall; we monitor conditions and adjust timing, see our road status page

- · Season runs December to April, with the most reliable snow from January through March

- · Tetnuldi's top lift station is above 3000m; some acclimatisation time is normal on the first day

- · Equipment rental is available in [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) and is not included in this package

- · Off-piste terrain at Tetnuldi should only be skied with a certified mountain guide, arranged separately

Questions

**Is this suitable for beginners?**
Hatsvali has gentle, sheltered runs well suited to beginners and intermediates. Tetnuldi's upper pistes are longer and more demanding, though it also has easier lower sections.

**What happens if the road to Mestia is closed by snow?**
We track conditions on our road status page and will adjust the transfer day or route if needed, with no extra charge for reasonable delays.

**Can we rent skis or a snowboard locally?**
Yes, rental shops operate in [Mestia](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mestia/) near both resorts. Equipment is not included in this package and is paid locally.

**Is a mountain guide included for off-piste skiing?**
No. Off-piste access at Tetnuldi requires a certified mountain guide, which we can arrange separately at the rate shown in our services.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
