Is the Mestia–Ushguli road safe in a regular car?
No, we use a 4x4 for that stretch. The unpaved mountain road is rough and can close briefly after heavy rain or snow; current status is checked at booking via gtour.ge/road-status.
Can we start or end in Tbilisi instead of Kutaisi and Batumi?
This itinerary is built around Kutaisi and Batumi airports. Let us know if you want a Tbilisi start or finish and we will quote a modified route.
What is the best season for this trip?
Late May to early October gives reliable access to Ushguli. Outside that window the Zagar and Jvari passes can close; conditions are checked at booking.
Is the price per person based on two sharing a room?
Yes, €1690 per person is based on two travelling together sharing a double room. Solo travellers and groups of three to six are quoted separately.
