A private Georgian feast in [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/): a tamada leads the toasts, twelve dishes come out course by course, and a polyphonic trio sings between them.

The route

[Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)

Why this tour

- —Held at a family house or courtyard restaurant, not a banquet hall set up for tour buses

- —A tamada runs the toasting order and explains each one in English as it happens

- —Twelve dishes, cold and hot, cooked the same day rather than pre-plated

- —Qvevri wine from a small Kakheti producer, poured by the cup through the evening

- —A three-voice polyphonic trio performs between toasts, not as a staged floor show

- —Works for a couple or a group of up to 40, same format, more tables

Itinerary

19:00Arrival at the house or courtyard restaurant in [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/), seated at a table set with cold dishes: pkhali, badrijani, Imeretian cheese and fresh bread.

19:20The tamada opens the supra and explains the toasting order in English as each round is made, starting with peace and moving through family, parents and friends.

20:00Hot dishes arrive in sequence, khinkali, mtsvadi or ojakhuri depending on the house, with qvevri wine poured throughout rather than bottled by the glass.

20:45A three-voice polyphonic trio sings between toasts, drawing on Gurian, Svan and Kakhetian repertoire.

21:30Dessert of churchkhela and fruit, Georgian coffee, and the tamada's closing toasts.

23:00Evening ends, with a transfer back to your hotel in central [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/).

Good to know

- · Smart casual dress, nothing formal expected

- · Toasts assume you will drink; tell us in advance if you would rather stick to juice, the tamada adjusts for this without comment

- · Groups over 15 need a few days' notice so the house can prepare the right quantity of dishes, checked at booking

- · Come with an appetite, twelve dishes is not a figure of speech

- · Runs year round indoors, no weather dependency

- · Vegetarian guests are well covered, roughly half the table is vegetable and cheese dishes, flag this at booking so portions are adjusted

Questions

**Is this a tourist show or a real supra?**
It is held at a working family house or courtyard restaurant that hosts supras for locals too, with the same toasting order and the same songs, not a staged dinner theatre act.

**Can I take part without drinking much?**
Yes. Tell us when booking and the tamada adjusts the toasts; juice or soda is poured instead of wine without singling anyone out.

**How large can the group be?**
From 4 people up to 40, seated at one long table or several, with the same format scaled to size.

**What does it cost?**
€145 per person based on two people travelling together. Solo travellers and groups of three or more are quoted separately, checked at booking.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
