The route

[Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/)

Why this tour

- —Covers the working Green Bazaar, where Imeretian cheese, churchkhela and spices are sold daily, not a tourist-only market

- —Crosses both the White Bridge and the older Chain Bridge over the Rioni River on foot

- —Walks through [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/)'s Jewish Quarter, with its synagogue and 19th-century houses

- —Ends on the hill at Bagrati Cathedral, a UNESCO-listed site overlooking the Rioni valley

- —Led by a licensed guide who explains the city's role as Georgia's ancient western capital

- —A good first orientation before longer trips to Gelati, Sataplia or the Prometheus caves
