Three days from Kazbek's alpenglow to Kakheti's vineyard terraces, shot with a photographer-guide who times each stop for light, not convenience.

The route

[Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)[Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/)[Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)

Why this tour

- —Sunrise shoot at Gergeti Trinity Church with Mount Kazbek behind it, before the day-trip crowds arrive from [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)

- —Georgian Military Highway viewpoints worked at the right hour, not just a drive-by photo stop

- —Kakheti's vineyard terraces and the Alazani valley shot from [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)'s fortress wall at blue hour

- —Small vehicle and small group, so the schedule bends around light rather than a fixed itinerary

- —Photographer-guide who knows which angles work at Gergeti, Ananuri and Bodbe and which don't

- —Two nights at altitude and in wine country instead of a rushed single-day loop

Itinerary

Day 1Leave [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) early on the Georgian Military Highway, stopping at Ananuri fortress and the Jvari Pass viewpoints for working light. Arrive in [Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/) by early afternoon, with a late-afternoon shoot and overnight stay below Mount Kazbek.

Day 2Pre-dawn departure by 4×4 up to Gergeti Trinity Church for sunrise and the Kazbek alpenglow, weather permitting. Drive back toward [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) through the afternoon, continuing on to Kakheti and arriving in [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) for a blue-hour shoot over the Alazani valley.

Day 3Morning at Bodbe Monastery and the tomb of St Nino, then down into the vineyard terraces below [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) for a working session among the vines. Drive back to [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) by late afternoon, ending at your hotel.

Good to know

- · The Gergeti sunrise shoot depends on weather and cloud cover on Kazbek, which is not guaranteed even in clear-sky forecasts

- · Pack warm layers for [Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/), where October mornings can be near freezing even with mild weather in [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)

- · The road up to Gergeti Trinity Church is unpaved and only done by 4×4, included in the tour

- · Bring a tripod for the blue-hour shoots in [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) and any sunrise or long-exposure work at Gergeti

- · The Georgian Military Highway can close for snow or avalanche risk even in October; we check road-status.html before departure and adjust timing if needed

- · A wide lens and a longer zoom both earn their place on this route, from valley-wide views to details at Bodbe and the vineyard terraces

Questions

**What if the mountain is in cloud on the sunrise morning?**
We can shift the Gergeti shoot to a second attempt later that day or adjust the Day 2 schedule depending on the forecast; we discuss this with you before departure.

**Is this tour physically demanding?**
Walking at Gergeti Trinity Church and around [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)'s fortress wall is moderate, on uneven ground in places; no technical hiking is involved.

**Can the itinerary be adjusted for golden hour at other stops?**
Yes, departure and stop times are built around light rather than a fixed schedule, within the overall three-day route.

**What camera gear should I bring?**
A tripod, a wide-angle lens for landscapes, and a mid-range zoom for Kakheti's vineyard details are the minimum; we travel light given the early starts and unpaved sections.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
