A half-day west of [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) into Kartli's vineyards, with [Mtskheta](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mtskheta/)'s churches on the way, the royal estate of Mukhrani, and a small Chinuri cellar in the hills.

The route

[Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)[Mtskheta](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mtskheta/)

Why this tour

- —Kartli is the wine region closest to [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/), so no early start and no long drive back

- —Château Mukhrani combines a 19th-century royal residence with a working winery and cellar tour

- —A small family producer working Chinuri and Goruli Mtsvane, grape varieties rarely poured outside this region

- —[Mtskheta](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mtskheta/)'s UNESCO churches sit on the direct route, included without adding driving time

- —Private car and licensed guide for the full day, not a shared minibus with a fixed schedule

- —Tastings at two different scales of winemaking, from estate production to a small cellar

Good to know

- · Roads to Mukhrani and on to the Kartli hills are paved; the drive from [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) runs well under an hour each way

- · Cellars can be several degrees cooler than outside, bring a light layer even in summer

- · Tastings involve alcohol; your driver does not taste, so no one needs to plan around a designated driver

- · Flat, closed shoes are more practical than sandals on cellar floors and gravel yards

- · Château Mukhrani's opening hours and any entrance fee are checked at booking, as these can change seasonally

- · This is a wine-focused day with modest walking; it is not a hiking itinerary

Questions

**Is lunch included?**
No. We stop in Mukhrani or nearby and you order and pay locally; menus and prices are checked at booking.

**How much wine will we actually taste?**
A guided flight at Château Mukhrani and a second tasting at the Chinuri cellar, typically four to six wines in total, but pours vary by venue and are confirmed on the day.

**Is this suitable if we don't drink much?**
Yes. You can taste lightly or skip pours and still get the cellar visits, the Mukhrani estate, and the [Mtskheta](https://gtour.ge/georgia/mtskheta/) stop; the guide adjusts pacing either way.

**What does it cost for one person or a larger group?**
€175 per person is based on two travelling together. Solo travellers and groups of three or more are quoted a separate per-person rate on request.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
