Three days in Kakheti built entirely around food: two supras with a tamada, a vine-cutting mtsvadi barbecue, a cooking morning, and cellar lunches in Telavi and Sighnaghi.
| Day 1 | Pickup in Tbilisi around 09:00 and the drive to Telavi, Kakheti's wine capital, about two hours including a coffee stop. Lunch at a family cellar with a qvevri wine tasting, then a walk past the Telavi royal palace and the old plane tree before the first supra of the trip, with a tamada and toasts. |
| Day 2 | A cooking morning in a Kakhetian village kitchen, preparing khinkali, badrijani nigvzit and pkhali with a local family, followed by lunch of what you cooked. Afternoon visit to Alaverdi Cathedral and Ikalto monastery, then a mtsvadi barbecue grilled over vine cuttings as the evening comes in. |
| Day 3 | Morning in Sighnaghi, the restored walled town above the Alazani valley, followed by Bodbe monastery and the tomb of St Nino. Second supra lunch with cellar hosts before the drive back to Tbilisi, arriving by early evening. |
Is this suitable for vegetarians?
Yes. The cooking morning and both supras can be adjusted for vegetarians or other dietary needs if you tell us when booking.
How much walking is involved?
Light. Cobblestones in Sighnaghi and short approaches to the monasteries, no hiking is required.
Do we have to drink at every toast?
No. Toasts are traditionally made with wine, but non-drinkers can substitute juice or water, and no one is required to finish every glass.
Is there a shorter version of this trip?
Yes, our Kakheti Classic and Kakheti Farm-to-Table Day trips cover similar ground as single-day outings if three days is more than you want.
