Two days photographing the rtveli harvest in Kakheti, from dawn vineyards at the Gombori pass to cellar interiors and [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) at blue hour.

The route

[Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)[Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/)[Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)

Why this tour

- —Timed to late September–October, when the Alazani valley vineyards turn gold and harvest work is underway

- —Photographer-guide who knows the light, the back roads, and which cellars allow tripods and interior shooting

- —Access to working qvevri cellars during active harvest, not staged visits

- —Dawn shoot from the Gombori pass over the vineyard plain below [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/)

- —[Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)'s walled streets and the Alazani valley view at blue hour, when the town empties of day-trippers

- —Small private group, so the schedule bends around light rather than a fixed itinerary

Itinerary

Day 2Sunrise session in the vineyards near [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/) or Tsinandali, then drive to [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/). Good to know

- · Dates are weather and harvest dependent; exact cellar visited is confirmed a few days before departure

- · Expect early starts, around 06:30, for the dawn vineyard light

- · Cellar floors can be uneven and poorly lit; sturdy shoes and a hand torch or headlamp are useful

- · Bring a tripod for interior cellar work and a fast lens for low light

- · Layered clothing recommended, cold mornings in the vineyards, warm afternoons in the valley

- · This is a slower-paced tour built around waiting for light, not a sightseeing checklist

Questions

**Is this tour only for professional photographers?**
No. It suits anyone serious about photographing the harvest and willing to work around early starts and changing light.

**Can we visit a specific winery we have in mind?**
We can try to arrange it, but access during harvest depends on the cellar's own schedule and cannot always be guaranteed in advance.

**What happens if it rains?**
The itinerary is adjusted on the day, cellar interiors and indoor harvest work become the priority and outdoor shoots are rescheduled where light allows.

**Is the hotel fixed or does it change by date?**
Accommodation in [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/) or [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) is confirmed at booking depending on availability for your dates.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
