Good to know

- · Late October can bring early snow at [Goderdzi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/goderdzi/) Pass and the road can close without notice; we check gtour.ge/road-status before and on the morning of the tour

- · Temperatures at the pass run 10 to 15 degrees cooler than [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/), bring a warm jacket even on a sunny day

- · Much of the road above [Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/) is unpaved and winding; plan accordingly if prone to motion sickness

- · Ski infrastructure at [Goderdzi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/goderdzi/) is seasonal and not operating in October, checked at booking for winter dates

- · By late October summer pastures are largely empty as herders move livestock down before winter

- · Bring comfortable shoes for the short walks at the Green Lake and the petrified forest site

Questions

**Is the road to Goderdzi Pass open in late October?**
Usually, but early snow can close it without notice. We check gtour.ge/road-status before booking and reconfirm on the morning of your tour.

**Do we need a 4×4 for this trip?**
Yes, from October to May we run this tour in a 4×4 because of the unpaved sections above [Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/). A standard car is used in summer months.

**How much does this tour cost?**
€225 per person based on two people travelling together. Solo travellers and groups of three or more are quoted separately, never a flat multiple.

**Can we ride the Khulo cable car?**
Yes, weather permitting. It is a working Soviet-era cable car used by local residents, not a tourist ride, so it occasionally pauses for maintenance, checked at booking.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
