Good to know

- · The Georgian Military Highway over the Jvari Pass can close for hours after snow from late October through spring; we check gtour.ge/road-status the morning of departure and adjust the Kazbegi day if needed

- · Churches require shoulders and knees covered for both men and women; scarves are kept in the car

- · Gergeti Trinity Church is reached by 4×4 to a car park, then a roughly 15-minute uphill walk on uneven ground

- · Pack layers: [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) and Kakheti can still be mild in late autumn while [Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/), near 2200m, is already cold

- · Wine tastings in Kakheti involve alcohol; drivers do not taste

- · Comfortable walking shoes help on [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)'s cobbled streets and the rock-cut paths at Uplistsikhe
