Five days at walking pace through Kakheti's cellars and monasteries, two nights at a wine estate near [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/), then one night under Mount Kazbek.

The route

[Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)[Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/)[Kvareli](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kvareli/)[Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/)[Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/)

Why this tour

- —Two consecutive nights at a working wine estate near [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/) instead of one rushed overnight

- —Alaverdi, Ikalto and Gremi monasteries covered without a single stop feeling hurried

- —A full night in walled [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/), with Bodbe Monastery and the Alazani valley view included

- —[Kvareli](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kvareli/) adds the Soviet-era wine tunnel and Chavchavadze's house, skipped on most short Kakheti trips

- —One night in [Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/) leaves time for Gergeti Trinity Church by 4×4 rather than a same-day round trip

- —Private car and licensed driver throughout, no joining other groups or fixed bus schedules

Itinerary

Day 1Depart [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) for [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/) over the Gombori pass (about two hours), with a stop at a Kakheti cellar for lunch and tasting before checking into a wine estate for two nights.

Day 2Full day around [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/): Alaverdi Monastery, Ikalto Monastery and academy ruins, and Gremi's royal church and tower, then on to [Kvareli](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kvareli/) for the wine tunnel, Chavchavadze's house-museum and a Kindzmarauli tasting before returning to the estate.

Day 3Transfer to [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) (about one hour), visit Bodbe Monastery and the tomb of St Nino, then walk the 18th-century fortress walls and old town streets before an overnight stay inside the walls.

Day 4Drive north to [Stepantsminda](https://gtour.ge/georgia/stepantsminda/) via [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) and the Georgian Military Highway (around four hours total, road conditions checked at booking), with a stop at Ananuri fortress on the way; afternoon 4×4 ride up to Gergeti Trinity Church, weather permitting.

Good to know

- · The Georgian Military Highway can close above Gudauri in snow or after heavy rain; the Kazbegi night is scheduled with a backup plan on the itinerary, check road-status.gtour.ge before departure

- · Gergeti Trinity Church sits at 2,170m; bring a warm layer even in October, temperatures at the church can be 10°C below [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)

- · Monastery visits require covered shoulders and knees for both men and women; skirts are available at some entrances, scarves are not always

- · Wine estate accommodation near [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/) is rural, with limited choice of restaurants nearby, most dinners are at the estate itself

- · Walking in [Sighnaghi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/sighnaghi/) and at Bodbe involves cobbled slopes and some stairs, comfortable shoes recommended

- · October is harvest season in Kakheti; cellars are busy and some tastings may be shorter than usual, confirmed at booking

Questions
