A six-day route from [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) through Kakheti and Imereti to [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/), built around four hands-on cooking classes in four different regional kitchens.

The route

[Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)[Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/)[Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/)[Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/)

Why this tour

- —Four real cooking classes, not one demo repeated: Kakhetian mtsvadi, Imeretian khachapuri and lobio, Megrelian spices at [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/) market, Adjarian khachapuri and fish in [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/)

- —Lunch in a working wine cellar in Kakheti, cooked alongside the family that owns it

- —A village household in Imereti rather than a restaurant kitchen for the khachapuri and lobio class

- —Covers Georgia's three main culinary regions plus the capital, so you taste the real differences between them rather than one generic menu

- —Private car and licensed guide for the whole route, so transfers between regions are not left to public transport schedules

- —Ends on the Black Sea coast in [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/), with time for the boulevard and Old Town alongside the cooking

Itinerary

Day 2Drive to Kakheti (about 1.5 to 2 hours), visiting Alaverdi or Ikalto monastery on the way. Cooking class on Kakhetian mtsvadi followed by a cellar lunch with the family that runs it; overnight in [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/).

Day 3Morning in [Telavi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/telavi/), the royal palace and the old plane tree, with an option to see Gremi. Drive on to [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/) (roughly 4 to 4.5 hours depending on traffic through [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/)); overnight in Kutaisi.

Good to know

- · Wear closed shoes and clothes you do not mind getting flour or grill smoke on for the cooking classes

- · The [Tbilisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/tbilisi/) to [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/) drive runs 4 to 4.5 hours depending on traffic; the Kutaisi to [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/) leg is about 2.5 hours, both fine roads, checked at booking for any closures

- · This tour runs year-round, but the harvest-season wine tours (September–October) are a different, separate itinerary if that is your main interest

- · No special fitness required; market visits and village walks involve uneven ground and some standing

- · Village and cellar hosts are usually accommodating with dietary restrictions if told at booking

- · Bring a light jacket for Kakheti evenings and the [Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/) boulevard, which can be breezy off the sea

Questions

**How much does this cost?**
€1890 per person based on two people travelling together. Solo travellers and groups of three or more are quoted separately, contact us for a figure.

**Can you handle vegetarian or allergy requirements?**
Yes, tell us at booking. The cooking classes and cellar lunch can be adjusted; some village dishes use dairy and pork by tradition.

**Is this suitable without any cooking experience?**
Yes, the classes are hands-on but instructional, aimed at travellers rather than professional cooks.

**Do we see Gelati, Bagrati or Prometheus Cave?**
Gremi is included on the Kakheti to [Kutaisi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/kutaisi/) day; Gelati, Bagrati and the caves can be added as an extra stop in Kutaisi, ask when booking as this affects the day's timing.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
