Three days on the St Andrew and Panorama trails through Georgia's oldest national park, sleeping in mountain shelters above Borjomi.
| Day 1 | Pick-up in Tbilisi at 08:00 and drive to Borjomi, about two and a half hours, with a stop at the town's mineral water park. Transfer to the trailhead (exact entrance checked at booking) and begin the St Andrew trail through beech and spruce forest to the first tourist shelter. |
| Day 2 | Full day on the St Andrew and Panorama trails, climbing out of the forest onto open ridge line with views toward the Lesser Caucasus. Second night in a park tourist shelter, dinner prepared by the guide from food carried in. |
| Day 3 | Descend through mixed forest back toward Borjomi, with a lunch stop in town before the drive back to Tbilisi, arriving in the early evening. |
How hard is this trek
It is rated moderate, with 5 to 7 hours of walking most days on forest and ridge trails. No climbing skills are needed, but you should have some multi-day hiking experience.
What are the tourist shelters like
They are simple wooden park shelters with bunk beds and a shared cooking and eating area, used by hikers on the official Borjomi-Kharagauli trail network. There is no running hot water.
Can this be shortened to two days
Not on this route. Three days is the minimum to walk the St Andrew and Panorama trails with an overnight at each shelter rather than a long single push.
Does the trek run in winter
No. The park trails and shelters operate May to October; snow and closures make the route impractical outside that window, checked at booking for shoulder-season dates.
