The route

[Batumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/batumi/)[Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/)[Goderdzi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/goderdzi/)[Beshumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/beshumi/)

Why this tour

- —Overnight in a working mountain guesthouse, not a resort hotel

- —Visits [Beshumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/beshumi/)'s forest climate resort and Green Lake away from the coastal crowds

- —Stops at [Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/)'s Soviet-era cable car and the valley's wooden mosques

- —Licensed driver-guide who knows which villages have fuel, food and phone signal

Good to know

- · The road beyond [Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/) is unpaved and narrow in places; this is a 4×4 trip, not a sedan transfer

- · Best driven July to September; [Goderdzi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/goderdzi/) Pass can close with early snow, checked at booking

- · Guesthouse rooms are simple, with shared or basic private bathrooms depending on the village

- · Bring warm layers even in summer, highland nights at [Beshumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/beshumi/) are cool

- · Phone signal is patchy past [Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/); let family know in advance

- · Wear sturdy shoes for the Green Lake forest walk

Questions

**Can this be done in winter?**
[Goderdzi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/goderdzi/) itself turns into a ski area in winter, but the full [Beshumi](https://gtour.ge/georgia/beshumi/) route depends on snow clearance; ask us for the current road status before booking.

**Is the guesthouse heated?**
Mountain guesthouses in this region use wood stoves rather than central heating; checked at booking for your specific dates.

**How rough is the driving really?**
Expect gravel, switchbacks and some exposure past [Khulo](https://gtour.ge/georgia/khulo/); the driver sets the pace and stops often, but this is not a smooth highway.

**What is the price for a solo traveller or a group?**
Solo travellers pay €672; with two the price is €420 each, with three €399 each, and €357 each for four to six travellers.

Prices are per person for two travelling together, in euros; solo travellers and larger groups are quoted on request. Every departure is private and adjusted to you. Hotels, wineries and restaurants on our routes are [verified by GTour](/verified/).
