Do I need previous mountaineering experience?
Yes. You should have prior experience with crampons, an ice axe and roped travel on glaciers. We run a skills refresher on Day 2 but this is not a first-time mountaineering course.
What is the success rate for reaching the summit?
It depends entirely on the weather window during your scheduled days. We build in a buffer day for this reason, but summit success is never guaranteed on Kazbek.
Can I rent equipment instead of bringing my own?
Crampons, harness, ice axe and helmet can be rented, cost confirmed at booking. Mountaineering boots are best brought from home for fit.
Is this priced per person or per group?
€1890 per person is based on two people travelling together. Solo climbers and groups of three or more are quoted on request, as group size changes the guide ratio.
