Winery Awino is a wine-production site located in Kvemo Kartli, in the village of Tamarisi, within the Marneuli municipality. The settlement was historically known as Traubenberg until 1944, a name that reflects the area’s long-standing connection to viticulture and winemaking. The winery sits on Pirveli Street, within the village’s residential and agricultural fabric.

Kvemo Kartli is one of Georgia’s southern regions, known for its mixed agricultural landscape and proximity to Tbilisi, making it accessible for day visits from the capital by road. The Marneuli municipality itself is largely agrarian, with vineyards and farmland forming part of the local economy. Travelers heading to the area typically pass through Marneuli town before reaching the surrounding villages such as Tamarisi.

This listing suits visitors interested in regional winemaking traditions outside Georgia’s more frequently visited wine regions like Kakheti, as well as those exploring the cultural and agricultural character of Kvemo Kartli. It may appeal to travelers planning a broader route through southern Georgia who wish to include a lesser-known winemaking locale with historical ties to viticulture dating back to its earlier German-influenced name.
