Villa Kelasuri is a winery located in Bolnisi, in the Kvemo Kartli region of southeastern Georgia, at Akaki Tsereteli N5. According to the register, the winery was founded by Gocha Liparteliani, who chose to establish the venture in Bolnisi after deciding to move from a previous base, bringing winemaking to this part of the country.

Kvemo Kartli is one of Georgia’s lesser-visited wine areas, set south of Tbilisi and bordering Armenia and Azerbaijan. Bolnisi itself is known for its agricultural land and for the historic Bolnisi Sioni church, one of the oldest basilicas in the country, located nearby. The region also carries traces of German colonist heritage, visible in some of the older architecture in the area. Tbilisi is roughly an hour and a half away by road, making the winery reachable as part of a day trip from the capital or a stop on a wider route through Kvemo Kartli.

Villa Kelasuri suits travelers interested in Georgia’s regional wine production outside the better-known Kakheti area, as well as visitors combining a wine stop with exploration of Bolnisi’s historical and rural surroundings.
