Uchas Wine is a small winery situated in the village of Makhatauri, within Sachkhere Municipality in the Imereti region of Georgia. It is identified in the register as the winery of Ucha Macharashvili, reflecting the pattern common across Imereti of family-run wine production rooted in a specific village setting.

Imereti is one of Georgia’s traditional winemaking regions, known for local grape varieties such as Tsitska, Tsolikouri and Krakhuna, and for a rural landscape of orchards, hills and small settlements. Sachkhere Municipality lies in the northern part of the region, reachable by road from Kutaisi, which serves as the area’s main transport and commercial hub with onward connections to other parts of Imereti. The surrounding countryside offers a quieter, village-based alternative to the more visited wine routes of Kakheti, giving a sense of everyday rural life in western Georgia.

This listing suits travelers interested in small, locally rooted wine producers and those exploring Imereti beyond its better-known towns, as part of a broader regional itinerary rather than a standalone destination.
