Tevdorashvilis Marani is a small wine cellar (marani) located in the village of Akhasheni, within Georgia’s Kakheti region. Since 2017 the operation has welcomed visitors interested in local winemaking, positioning itself within the region’s long-standing tradition of viticulture and hospitality.

Akhasheni is best known as the namesake of a naturally semi-sweet red wine appellation, traditionally made from Saperavi grapes grown on the surrounding slopes. The village sits within the broader Kakheti wine zone, not far from larger centers such as Gurjaani and Telavi, and within reach of well-known sites like Sighnaghi, Tsinandali and Alaverdi Monastery. Travelers typically approach the area via Kakheti’s main regional roads connecting Tbilisi with the wine country.

The marani suits travelers following Georgia’s Kakheti wine route who want to experience winemaking in a village setting rather than a larger commercial estate, as well as those combining a wine-focused stop with visits to nearby Kakhetian towns and historical landmarks.

  Since 2017 we have been hosting tourists, Georgian vacationers, and excursions in our wine cellar. We offer them degustations of Chacha, Rkatsiteli, and Saperavi wines in various flavours.

  We share information about vineyard care, winemaking, and Kakhetian traditions. Participating in the grape picking process in the fall, pressing the grapes, grilling the barbecue, and setting the table in the cellar is one big celebration. And we are happy to offer our guests to join in.
