Marani Zekari is a wine site located in the village of Siktarva, in the Imereti region of western Georgia. As a “marani” — the traditional Georgian term for a wine cellar or wine-making place — it reflects the region’s long-standing winemaking culture, where qvevri-based production remains common practice.

Imereti sits between the Likhi and Meskheti mountain ranges, with Kutaisi, the region’s main city, serving as the typical gateway for travelers. From Kutaisi, the area’s attractions include Prometheus Cave, Sataplia Nature Reserve, and the dramatic Okatse and Kinchkha canyons, all within reach by road. The countryside around Siktarva is characterized by vineyards, orchards, and rural landscapes typical of Imereti’s agricultural character, offering a quieter counterpoint to the region’s more visited natural sites.

Marani Zekari suits visitors interested in Georgia’s wine heritage and those exploring Imereti beyond its well-known caves and canyons. It is listed in the national tourism register and verified by GTour, with map and contact details available for those planning a visit to this part of western Georgia.
