Marani Enkeni is a wine cellar located in the village of Akhalterjola, in the Imereti region of western Georgia. Imereti is one of the country’s historic winemaking areas, known for its own distinct approach to qvevri wine production, somewhat lighter and less tannic than the styles typical of Kakheti, and for indigenous grape varieties cultivated across its gently rolling countryside.

The surrounding area sits within easy reach of Kutaisi, Georgia’s third-largest city and a common base for travelers exploring Imereti, with its airport, historic churches and access routes toward Racha, Svaneti and the Black Sea coast. Village life in this part of Imereti remains closely tied to agriculture and small-scale winemaking, offering visitors a quieter, rural counterpart to Georgia’s better-known wine routes.
