Maradiuli is a family-run winery situated in the village of Merjevi, within Sachkhere Municipality in the Imereti region of western Georgia. Operated by the Kemertelidze family, it represents the small-scale, household winemaking tradition that is widespread throughout Imereti, a region long associated with distinctive local grape varieties and qvevri-based production methods.

The winery sits in a rural setting typical of the Sachkhere area, away from major urban centers but within reach of Imereti’s regional hub, Kutaisi, which offers transport links and broader tourist infrastructure. The surrounding countryside is characterized by the agricultural landscape common to this part of western Georgia, with vineyards, orchards, and small villages forming the backdrop to the municipality. Visitors travelling through Imereti exploring its wine culture may find Merjevi a worthwhile stop along a broader regional route.

This place suits travelers interested in small, family-operated wineries and those wishing to experience Imereti’s winemaking traditions away from larger commercial producers, as part of a self-guided tour of the region’s rural wine villages.
