Lagazi is a small-scale gastronomy venture in Zemo Alvani, a village in the Akhmeta municipality of Kakheti. The place traces back to 2014, when Natia and Shota left city life behind to return to Shota’s ancestral home in the village, turning the family property into a place to welcome visitors and share local food traditions.

Zemo Alvani sits at the edge of the Alazani valley, known historically as a settlement of the Tush highlanders and as one of the main starting points for routes into the Tusheti mountains. The surrounding area offers a mix of Kakhetian lowland scenery and proximity to the foothills, with the town of Akhmeta and the wider Telavi area within reach for those exploring the region’s vineyards, churches and rural landscapes.

Lagazi suits travelers interested in home-based rural hospitality and Kakhetian food culture, particularly those passing through Zemo Alvani on the way to or from Tusheti, or anyone seeking a quieter, village-based alternative to the region’s larger wine-tourism centers.
