Gvino Kartlisa is a small family winery situated in Rustavi, within the Kvemo Kartli region of Georgia. The winery is described as continuing Georgian winemaking traditions on a family scale, offering a modest and personal counterpoint to the country’s larger commercial producers.

Rustavi lies a short distance southeast of Tbilisi, along the Mtkvari (Kura) river, and is easily reached by road from the capital or from other towns in Kvemo Kartli. The surrounding area is largely urban and industrial, with the broader region known for its mix of agricultural land and historic sites further afield, making the winery a point of interest for those exploring beyond Tbilisi’s immediate surroundings.

This listing suits travelers curious about Georgia’s wine culture outside the more frequently visited Kakheti region, as well as those already in or passing through Rustavi who wish to learn about small-scale, family-run winemaking in Kvemo Kartli.

Wine — Kvemo Kartli, Georgia

Gvino Kartlisa is a small family winery located in Rustavi. Our winery has been uniting Georgian traditions with modern winemaking for eight years. We produce natural wines from our own vineyards located in the village of Chvrinisi, Kareli municipality, in the valley of the River Prone. Our vineyards follow organic principles, giving our wines purity and authenticity. We make wines both in traditional Qvevri and with european techniques.

The winery’s assortment includes: Tavkveri, Shavkapito, Pinot, Chinebuli, Goruli Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli and Saperavi. Also Chacha – classic and oak aged.
