Glakho Papa’s Wine Cellar is a small-scale wine venue situated in the Kakheti region of eastern Georgia, the country’s most renowned winemaking area. The property is identified by an underground cellar connected to the basement through an internal entrance, a feature that reflects the traditional approach to wine storage found throughout the region.

Kakheti stretches along the Alazani Valley and is dotted with vineyards, family-run wineries and villages built around centuries-old winemaking customs, including the use of qvevri clay vessels. Towns such as Telavi and Sighnaghi serve as regional hubs, offering additional wineries, guesthouses and views over the valley toward the Caucasus foothills. The area is generally reached by road from Tbilisi, with local routes connecting the smaller villages and wine cellars scattered across the countryside.

This cellar suits travelers interested in exploring Kakheti’s wine culture at a modest, local level, away from larger commercial operations, and who wish to combine a cellar visit with broader exploration of the surrounding valley and its winemaking villages.
