Akaki Kvirikashvili’s Marani is a small, family-run winery in the Imereti region of western Georgia, producing natural wine from local grape varieties. The term “marani” refers to a traditional Georgian wine cellar, and operations of this scale are typical of Imereti’s long-standing winemaking culture, which favours indigenous grapes such as Tsitska and Tsolikouri alongside the qvevri methods the country is known for.

The winery sits within Imereti, a region centred around the city of Kutaisi, Georgia’s historic former capital. Visitors passing through can combine a stop here with nearby cultural and natural sites, including Bagrati Cathedral and Gelati Monastery in Kutaisi, as well as Prometheus Cave, Sataplia Nature Reserve and Okatse Canyon, all within reach by road.
