Perched on the 10th floor of the Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace on Telavi Street, ATI Rooftop Restaurant looks out over the Avlabari district toward the Mtkvari River and the domes and rooftops of Old Tbilisi. It functions as restaurant, bar and lounge in one space, which makes it flexible: a full dinner, a pre-dinner cocktail, or simply a drink while the city settles into evening light.

October is a practical month to visit. The summer heat has gone, the air over the river tends to be clearer, and the lower autumn sun brings out the colour of the Old Town’s rooftops and the hills around Narikala in a way that is harder to appreciate in the haze of high summer. Evenings are cooler but generally still comfortable enough to spend time outdoors on a rooftop terrace, which is when ATI’s elevated position earns its keep.

### What to expect on the plate

The kitchen works from Georgian regional cooking but presents it with a modern hand rather than straightforward tradition, so travellers who have already eaten their way through supra classics elsewhere in the city will find familiar ingredients handled differently. The bar side runs on crafted cocktails, and the venue mentions a fire pit among its features, a detail that suits the shoulder-season evenings of late October when a lounge area with some warmth close by becomes genuinely useful rather than decorative.

The setting suits a fairly broad range of travellers: hotel guests looking for a dinner without leaving the building, visitors who have spent the day on foot through Old Tbilisi and want a central place to finish the evening, and anyone simply after a view-driven stop near the river rather than a destination restaurant in its own right.

Getting there is straightforward. Avlabari metro station is close by, and the location is an easy walk from Metekhi Church, Metekhi Bridge and Rike Park, or a short ride from most central Tbilisi addresses. Taxis reach the hotel directly.

Combine a visit with the obvious neighbours: cross Metekhi Bridge into Old Town’s narrow streets, take the cable car from Rike Park up to Narikala Fortress for a second, higher view of the city, and let an evening at ATI serve as the point where the day’s walking turns into a sit-down meal with the same skyline laid out below rather than around you.
